Are you first-generation and/or limited income (FLI)? At Stevens, a first-generation college student is someone whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not graduated from a four-year college or university. Our Office of Financial Aid defines limited-income students as those whose (FISAP/FAFSA) total family income is less than $65,000, receive a Pell Grant and/or EOF. If you identify as FLI, you and your family are invited to come to campus one day prior to the start of New Student Orientation to participate in a free specialized orientation experience (August 26). Make early connections with peers, meet faculty and staff and learn about available campus resources. Learn more at www.stevens.edu/firstgen. We celebrate and support our FLI Ducks!
FLI Orientation Highlights:
- Learn about resources, opportunities, and helpful tips for success in college
- Skip the line and move-in to Stevens housing one day early!
- Family members are encouraged to stay for lunch, and attend a workshop where you can ask questions and learn about university processes, terminologies, and ways to support your college student
- Gain information to resolve any concerns or questions you and other FLI students may have, including academics, finances, jobs, wellness, clubs, and more
- Get a private campus tour, including the NEW University Center
Please note: students who participate in FLI Student & Family Orientation should not register for any Pre-Orientation Programs as the dates conflict.
